Both, Red Dead Revolver/Redemption were games that touched on a part of American mythos in the best of ways. Even other cultural mythos play into what makes these games so great, with many different backgrounds showcased. Each game is a unique tail of one man’s quest deeply personal to them. Not only exploring the characters presented fully, but also putting forth some of the best storytelling for video games of such a genre at each respective time. Each felt like a true American western tale.

As alluded to in the previous entry, questions have been circling as to whether or not Rockstar’s highly anticipated title will arrive on PC. Rumors have stated that the game will run on PC at 4K and 60FPS, but it has yet to be confirmed that the title will indeed be released on the platform at

Even after releasing in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V is still one of the top 10 best-selling titles each month, mostly because of its ever-expanding multi-player mode. Fans are continually surprised with how much content is being added to the game on a regular ba

Sony infamously refused to participate in cross-platform play with the extremely popular racing/sports title, Rocket League . With Rocket League coming to the Nintendo Switch later in 2017, fans are excited to play with gamers on multiple consoles. However, PlayStation has stated that they will not be taking part, stating that Sony wants to maintain control of its online ecosys

Have you ever really thought about the fact that Shyvana is a half-breed dragon? Anyone who is a “half-breed” knows that the full bred individuals look down upon you. No wonder Shyv is a jungler! She wants to spend all her time slaying dragons or maybe just talking smack to them. She feels lesser because she’s half human and the dragons know that. She wants to be accepted by both humans and dragons, but she cannot. The humans will see her as a dragon and the dragons will see her as a human. She is cast aside by them both and so she roams the jungle in danger of being reported. She needs love and understanding, but instead she gets banned. The poor, poor dragon…or was it hu

While the original Read Dead Redemption did not even allow characters to swim, a glimpse of a character out in open waters in a kayak has caused some to speculate whether gamers will be able to travel across the seas. This might seem like a stretch for some, but again given the limited amount of information fans have to go on, speculation is all that rema

With a setting as violent and unruly as the budding westward expansion, you can bet that Red Dead Redemption is going to be full of shocking, downright revolting acts. Let’s not forget that this is a Rockstar game so the carnage and shock are going to be ramped up to eleven. It’s never unwarranted; the game is that much better for it and portrays the ornery attitude of the untamed frontier better than any other form of media to d

Why is it that 99% of supports seem to have this happy-go-lucky, blonde personality? It’s so strange! This Leona is the perfect representation of that. She tries to do something “cool and nice” and ends up hurting someone in the process. It’s adorable and destructive. Two things that don’t often go hand in hand. But with supports, it happens. All they want to do is help. But sometimes they try so hard that they end up hurting you, as well as themselves. They may even get so caught up in their own little world that they ignore you completely just long enough for you to perish as

Bringing it full circle, I do not want to see Red Dead Redemption 2 pull a Magnificent Seven, even if this means making a bad guy version of the Seven. Which right now it’s looking that way. Seven cowboys riding off into the distance? The Magnificent Seven (I’m talking the 1960 version) is a great standalone tale on its own, while also having borrowed from a tale not its own. If you haven’t heard of Seven Samurai go watch it immediately, stop reading this article. While video games are drawing more and more from film, Rockstar has proved they can develop games that draw from certain pools while keeping it fresh and original.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been hyped to hell and back as of last week, and while still not too much is known about the narrative that will be presented, I just can’t help but want another Rockstar tale that blows my mind. The ending of Red Dead Redemption might be one of my favorite endings of any video game ever. Until more is shown, though, I can only dream.

And yet those moments, as action-packed and exciting as they are, were just a smaller part of the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 ‘s focus is turned even more toward its finer details. As I entered a small town as Arthur Morgan and went to the nearby general store, I was able to browse the shelves and interact with almost every individual object, item, or knick-knack that caught my eye, and able to examine it in fine detail, even down to reading the labels. At the conclusion of the previously-mentioned train robbery when looking for bonds and money to score, I saw Arthur rummage through cabinets and spending some time looking at the ornate decorations and items strewn about, when just a minute before this, he was hopping across train cars and taking down gunmen left and right. After riding my horse into the next town and stopping to take a break, I could examine my rifle, clean it with gun oil and a cloth, and make sure it was ready for the next engagement ahead.
