Rumors concerning one of 2010s best games have been circulating for a while now, and its about time Rockstar reveals Red Dead Redemption 2. We know its happening, and with all versions of Grand Theft Auto V out in the wild the time has never been more right. We may be waiting years for the game to finally hit store shelves, but better knowing now then being left in the dark.

Ever hear of the legend of Lucky Luke? Yeah neither have I, dear readers. That’s probably because it’s based on a series of French comics dating back to the late 40s. As obscure as it is I’m surprised there are so many games based on the character. I grabbed one for my favorite console, the Super Nintendo, and was not impressed. It looks good (resembling the comic to a degree), but I wouldn’t call it exciting. Lucky Luke is slow as molasses in terms of walking and jumping, which makes platforming a needlessly hard challenge. Shooting is no better either. Worse yet, your objective is not clearly defined in a level. I don’t expect games to hold my hand, but give me a break. At least try to be decent to your play

At the PlayStation Experience we learned that a new God of War game is in development, but that we might have to wait another year. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t get a teaser. God of War III’s teaser trailer went live June 2008, a full two years before the game hit store shelves. It’s been five years since we’ve gotten a proper God of War game, and many are itching to know what’s going to happen in Kratos’ next outing. Hopefully we’ll get a few hints in 2015.

_ Red Dead Redemption 2’s _ visuals are astounding. Considering the size of the map – which takes 16 minutes to cross on horseback from one end to the other – and keeping in mind that the game features a vastly underdeveloped western world, it should come as no surprise that traveling from one point to another comes with a lot of wide, open terrain. While this may make travel seem boring and tedious (admittedly, one of my own personal gripes from the original game ), _ Red Dead Redemption 2 _ does a stellar job of keeping players engaged with ever-changing weather, authentic architecture, and gorgeous, sprawling landscapes and scenery. While it may seem like there is not much to do in such a vast Open world games updates-world, the game does a superb job in balancing random interactions and mini-games along the tra

Rockstar has been creating sandbox style games for an extremely long time now. Since creating the hustle and bustle of Liberty City in GTA III, Rockstar has been releasing incredible maps for players to explore. While each map has gotten bigger and more detailed with each new sandbox game Rockstar released, they have yet to solve the problem of a structure standing perfectly fine after having a sticks of dynamite thrown at it. Destructible environments is a lot to ask for, so it would be unfair to expect an map to be completely destructible, but it’s time Rockstar started to add as much detail to building and environmental damage as they do to cars in in the GTA series. Besides, getting to blow a hole in the side of a bank or a jail to get inside or out would be a bl

During certain missions, you are prompted to cover your face with a bandana, which is typical of Westerns. It looks cool. This is to keep your identity hidden, right? Well despite this, somehow you always get fined with a bounty. It doesn’t make any sense. I tried wearing masks too and that doesn’t do anything either. It feels like Rockstar put them in as an obligation to the genre. They didn’t want to implement it as a real disguise. It might have broken the game otherwise, or someth
Something I liked about E3 2014 is the strong focus the big 3 had on gamers. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all focused on delivering the games that we, the gamers, want to play. Aside from Sony getting a little sidetracked, E3 2014 ended up being one of the better shows in years. Let’s keep that up going into E3 2015.

The hardcore mode in Red Dead Redemption left a lot to be desired. Instead of shifting the gameplay focus to survivalist activities, (hunting, finding shelter) it mostly just made it harder to kill enemies . A mode that would force a player to stock up his saddle with food or be prepared to hunt or steal for a long journey across the map would make for the ultimate Western experience. Simply trying to stay alive for a couple of days should be a challenge as plays fend themselves off from bandits, starvation, bobcats, and the weather. It would also make beating the game in Hardcore mode that much more rewarding. While it may come off a bit too “simulator” to some, it would offer versatile game play and better replay va

When it was first announced that GTA V would have three player characters, it seemed like a bit more of a gimmick to deviate from its previous games than a truly enhanced gameplay experience. But those thoughts were quickly silenced once players saw how much fun having multiple characters could be. Having the freedom to play with different special abilities, personalities, and intersecting stories makes this feature an absolute shoo-in for Red Dead Redemption 2 . Judging from Rockstar’s pattern of releasing larger, and larger sandbox maps with each new title, having multiple characters scattered across the map could make for a much easier and more natural way of exploring it, than simply fast traveling. The vast lands could unfold as the player uses each character from the regions of the different regions of the
